Look Ma, I made the news!

The bloodthirsty media is once again taking aim at me. The response to my most recent media targeting has been vile, sick, and threatening. Make no mistake, they want us dead or imprisoned. That’s why AOC and Jennifer Rubin and other would be tyrants are making lists. I’ve been mentioned or quoted in hundreds of articles over the last few days but here is what they aren’t telling you.

The bloodthirsty media has flooded my family’s lines of communication with their legions of harassing trolls. In an effort to tie the Stop the Steal effort to Steve Bannon and WeBuildTheWall, the media has gone out of their way to include Jennifer Lawrence and I in more articles than we could hope to keep up with. The attention has come with threats and harassment that seems even more unhinged than usual. This isn’t my first rodeo and I’m not being dramatic, but the lunatics have become unglued.

Here’s the thing, most of the articles are based around a single statement I gave to a reporter at CNN. The following paragraph in a variety of slightly edited ways was published dozens of times.

One of the administrators of the “Stop the Steal” group, Dustin Stockton, told CNN he did not see any messages within the group “calling for violence outside of what is common political hyperbole.” He said Facebook’s removal of the page was “out of line and they should restore it immediately.”

The quote is accurate and I’m glad it’s been included because it’s true. The part of my statement they didn’t include is also true. I challenged every reporter who reached out to me to AT LEAST read and consider it. As a human. The censorship they are joyfully reporting on is marginalizing and radicalizing Americans against America’s institutions. Here was the part of the statement they didn’t include:

“The MASS Big Tech censorship over the last few weeks, on top of the pandemic, on top of all the other uncertainty, is creating a VERY dangerous situation. Adding censorship to all the other hardship is having a really terrible effect on people. They have no outlet to vent with the frustration and devastation so many are facing. At best censorship erodes the already strained credibility of the media and Big Tech. At its worst it can marginalize and radicalize already strained people in a way that causes real damage. It also plays into the sense of persecution and hopelessness of certain kinds of people who are mentally ill. Now instead of having a safe place to talk about things the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES is talking about, too many are being left to have the pressure build without a valve.”

I was less kind with the NBC reporter who doxes and destroys Trump supporters who are just regular people.
