Los Angeles City Councilor and former California Senate President Kevin de León flubbed the Pledge of Allegiance during a city council meeting on Tuesday.

De León is a Democrat career politician. He formerly served as the President pro tempore of the California Senate, and ran in a left-wing primary challenge against establishment Democrat Dianne Feinstein in 2018.
“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America…”
*silence*
“Under invincible, pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America…”
*muttering*
What?
De León finally got it right after finishing his Google search.
A 2017 profile of de León described the longtime California legislator as “strongly identifying with Mexican culture.” Perhaps if Leon more closely identified with American culture, he’d actually know the brief phrase that most Americans have recited countless times throughout their lives.
In shameless fashion, the progressive Democrat followed up on his unpatriotic gaffe by raising money for illegal aliens.
Embarrassing, am I right? If you or someone you know got a good laugh out of my own “unique” version of the pledge of allegiance, consider donating a few $$ to https://t.co/Ig5Qrkr4i2. Maybe in future Los Angeles City Council meetings he should lead by pledging his allegiance to illegal immigrants, instead. Perhaps De León wouldn’t forget a phrase doing as such, as opposed to pledging allegiance to America.
De León was elected in a special election to replace Jose Huizar, who was arrested on federal corruption and bribery charges last year. De León is most known for an embarrassment in which he claimed that 3D-printed firearms were capable of firing thirty rounds with half a second, in addition to other bizarre, uninformed statements regarding guns.
What does it say about the United States when the former Senate President of the largest state legislature in the country can’t even recite the Pledge of Allegiance?
