A spokesperson for Vice President Kamala Harris suffered a meltdown live on Fox News after being unable to explain the details of the Democratic Party candidate’s economic policy. She then resorted to accusing the female host of being “disrespectful” to women.
During an interview with Fox News host Sandra Smith, Democratic Party strategist Kelly Hyman admitted that she is not “privy” to any information on Harris’ economic proposals.
Smith asked Hyman to provide viewers with at least some detail regarding Harris’ economic plans. Hyman responded by completely failing to explain how Harris would handle price gouging, claiming that the vice president’s proposals would prevent big corporations from exploiting ordinary Americans.
The host then asked Hyman whether the so-called price gouging is indeed happening. Hyman originally said “No, not at the moment,” but then acknowledged she has no idea at all.
“In regards – I don’t know exactly if that’s currently happening or not because I’m not privy to that type of information, but the people are costing a lot of money in regard to groceries,” an agitated Hyman replied.
“It seems like you’re having a hard time articulating her plan, and that adds to the frustration of voters,” Smith mentioned.
Hyman responded: “I’m not. Honestly, that’s not true. Please. I’m constantly being interrupted by you. Which as a woman, I think is disrespectful.”
The Harris campaign plans to roll out a fresh set of economic policy proposals that allegedly seek to assist Americans in creating wealth as well as establishing economic incentives for businesses to grow.
Sources who spoke with Reuters claimed that the recent policies are being rolled out in response to more undecided voters asking for additional information regarding how Harris would help them economically if she were elected president in November.
Harris, speaking to reporters on Sunday, Sept. 22, said she would lay out her vision for the economy in a speech very soon. She added that the plan is about investing in the ambitions and goals of Americans while tackling the challenges they face. This comes after an intense discussion in Democratic circles over whether issuing more economic policies so close to election day is a good strategy.
“It’s not just about affordability, it’s also about showing [voters] they have a path to building wealth,” said one of the sources with personal knowledge of Harris’ economic plans, while adding that she wanted to show Americans how they can “get a foot in the door.”
The sources did not give definite details on the fresh set of policies, and the Harris campaign did not comment on any recent proposals.
In her short-lived 2020 presidential campaign, Harris proposed substantial pay hikes for the millions of public-school teachers, forcing corporations to reveal their pay gap between men and women and penalizing those who are not reducing it.
Harris has issued a load of economic policies concentrated on the high cost of housing, taxes, small business expenses, childcare and commodities. Her plans frequently rest on Biden’s policies, such as raising the child tax credit and elevating the corporate tax rate to 28 percent.
